Local Company, ACN, Celebrates Silver Anniversary Yet Has the Soul of a Startup

Concord, NC – March 27, 2018 — Concord-based ACN Inc., the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and essential services for home and business, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018.

ACN began operations in January 1993 in the United States with just one service–long distance. ACN later expanded into Canada before eventually expanding overseas to markets in Europe, The Pacific, Asia and Latin America – today totaling 25 countries and growing.  

Over the last quarter of a century, ACN has also continued to expand its services portfolio for residential and business customers to include phone service, high-speed Internet, wireless, satellite TV, energy, security and payment processing. ACN designed, developed and maintains its own international digital phone service network, and launched their own Wireless division, Flash Wireless. Additionally, the company markets services for some of the top names in every industry they represent.

In 2009, ACN purchased a vacant property just off Interstate 85 and subsequently relocated its World Headquarters to Concord, N.C. bringing close to 500 jobs to the area during a critical time in the economy. Today, the state-of-the-art facility spans over 140,000 square feet and proudly dons flags from each of the company’s 25 countries of operation.

“Regardless of what goes on in the world around us, Concord has upheld its rich heritage and its reputation for innovation – a reputation that is 200 years in the making…all while maintaining that small town feel that is uniquely Concord,” said ACN President and Co-Founder Greg Provenzano when speaking about why the company chose to call Concord, NC home. “These are the things that drew us to this area – and we’re proud to have been a part of the landscape for almost a decade…and counting.”

From day one, the company made a commitment to the Concord community and the surrounding areas – a commitment they’ve continued to deliver on in a big way.  

“Since ACN began in 1993, it’s been our hope to leave the communities in which we live, work and play a little better than when we found them,” said Provenzano.

In 2008, ACN began working with the Ronald McDonald House Charities on a global scale and raises funds for this organization at each of ACN’s global events. But when the founders of ACN realized Charlotte was the only NFL city without a House, they stepped into action and made significant contributions locally to open the doors of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, which opened in May of 2010. ACN has continued to support the cause through donations and volunteer hours. Each month ACN employees prepare dinner for the 28 families staying at the House on a given night.

In addition to providing ongoing support for Ronald McDonald House Charities, ACN is proud to sponsor and be involved with a long list of local charities – a list of 50 organizations and growing, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, The American Red Cross, Speedway Charities, and many more.

“Sometimes the biggest change starts right at home! This area is more than just another city. It’s our home and we believe it’s our responsibility – no our privilege – to cultivate our roots in the area and help our community grow by first growing the children and families within our community,” said Provenzano.

ACN also hosts an annual International Training Convention in Uptown Charlotte during the first quarter. With thousands of attendees traveling from throughout North America and the world to attend, the company fills hotels and restaurants, and over a span of three days is able to bring millions of dollars into the local economy.

So what does the future hold for this international powerhouse that loves calling Concord home? “During our 25th anniversary year, we will certainly be celebrating our proud history and humble beginnings, but it’s our future that keeps us motivated.
